the story Act one
A freeter in his twenties named Takemichi Hanagaki learns one day that the Tokyo Manji Gang had killed Hinata Tachibana and her younger brother Naoto. The Tachibana family included Hinata and Naoto. When Takemichi is pushed in front of a train, he is able to travel back in time precisely twelve years to the year 2005. When Takemichi is reliving his middle school years, he meets Naoto and tells him the exact day that he and Hinata would die. When they shake hands, Takemichi is immediately transported back to the present, creating a paradoxical situation in which Naoto is able to survive and is currently employed as a detective. Naoto has come to the conclusion that anytime the two of them hold hands, Takemichi is sent back in time by fifteen years. Takemichi has vowed to use the knowledge he has learned from the future to save Hinata.

Takemichi’s former allies were forced to take part in covert skirmishes that were commanded by Kiyomasa, a member of the Tokyo Manji Gang. Mikey, the leader of the gang, respects Takemichi for his steadfast dedication to keeping them safe. Takemichi discovers that his recent friendship with Mikey prevented one of his other friends, Akkun, from being detained in the present. When Akkun kills himself out of fear, Takemichi realizes that the Tokyo Manji Gang is a bigger threat to his friends than he initially thought.

By traveling back in time, Takemichi learns that the Tokyo Manji Gang is at war with the rival gang Moebius in order to exact revenge on Pah-companion. Takemichi learns that Mikey’s second-in-command, Draken, will be killed in the future, which would ultimately lead to Mikey acting violently. Draken escapes the altercation unhurt, but Pah-chin turns himself in to the police after stabbing Osanai, the leader of the Moebius group. As a result, there are differences of opinion within the Tokyo Manji Gang regarding how to help Pah-chin in this circumstance.

Takemichi is able to settle the dispute between Mikey and Draken; but, on August 3, 2005, the Tokyo Manji Gang were ambushed by a group of Moebius members led by a Valhalla member by the name of Shoji Hanma. Takemichi learns that Peh-yan joined up with them in retribution for Mikey and Draken allowing Pah-chin to be jailed, and that Kiyomasa stabbed Draken in retaliation for Draken humiliating him and making him leave the Tokyo Manji Gang. Peh-yan teaches Takemichi this information. The battle is won by the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi defeats Kiyomasa, and Draken recovers fully from his injuries.
